It does make an attempt at tackling black inequities and criminal justice issues with a backdrop of current affairs. The show looks more like a mad-lib of wokeness gone bad. Also, can we stop pushing the polyamory lifestyle? None of these writers can probably maintain a relationship 1 person, they shouldn't be trying to shove contrived plots down our throat that just make zero sense.
It's very obvious the writers on this show have absolutly zero knowledge about swat, the law or what it means to be an alpha male or female in absolutely anything in life. In real life, almost none of these characters would have made the swat team.
What started out as a show where almost real men even tackled a few difficult emotional hurdles we deal with, turned into a collective of elite people that act like the most pathetic people on earth. They finally start to do a decent job with the writing for a black women, but then proceed to immediately kill her off in the most pointless of story arches. They write the worst female characters of almost any show, turning them into cry-baby, whining losers. Every character is 1000% predictable, flat and is incapable of growth. They don't even bother to wait for new seasons to get worse, it's just a steady decline. This use to be a moderately enjoyable/entertaining show, but has gotten worse with each episode. Even someone ignorant of Police tactics and procedures would be laughing their butts off. Asides from these types of things the show itself is flawed and inaccurate.

never seen that before in a modern movie or tv show. Big bad SWAT officer cries and practically begs Moore for forgiveness! Imagine if his father actually did something evil? * Female SWAT team member is bisexual. One of the SWAT members is third generation SWAT, his father makes some mildly racist comments. She is also his boss! * This one made me laugh. * Hispanic woman is some official in the Justice Dept, she is bedding Moore. White officer is sacked without investigation and replaced by Moore because Moore is black. Oh my god! * White SWAT leader shoots a black kid.

I liked the old series from the 70's so even though I knew this was going to suck, especially with Shemar "look at me" Moore in it, I thought I would watch a little anyway. No color, no sexual choice, no limiting speech will make us better, happier people who do not experience trauma occasionally!!! And yes, I am angry and offended that this dumb culture took the great show, Swat, away from us. I just want these unhappy people to deal with their "Issues" grow up and learn that bad stuff happens to EVERYONE. I don't care what color you are, what you do or say as long as it is good and uplifting, or who you sleep with. What the heck is going on in this country? Am I the only person left in America who just wants to be entertained, not preached to every night by what should be great evening TV entertainment? And guess what? I am a proudly unW.O.K.E.person. Two thumbs down for taking this awesome show and turning it into CNN. I dropped my rating after watching for years from a 9 to a 1 because we decided to throw this one in the trash with all the preaching and the whining and "feelings" now superseding the great action this show used to portray. And another fine show falls prey to the Cancel Culture and every white person is racist culture as well as the LGBTQ agenda.
